Who we see

Groups we look after in Burntwood

If several of you are travelling to the same place at the same time, it's usually easier — and quicker — to sort the travel health side together rather than one by one.

  • Gap-year & student groups

Volunteering placements, field trips, study abroad and backpacking routes, where several people are heading to the same region on the same dates.

Courses like rabies and hepatitis B take weeks — get the enquiry in early and everyone can finish before departure.

  • Families travelling together

Visiting family abroad, a big holiday or a wedding overseas — parents, children and grandparents seen in one appointment slot where we can.

Bring children's red books if you have them; we'll check what's already been given.

  • Work trips & overseas assignments

Staff travelling for a project, a site visit or a longer posting. We'll work from your itinerary and invoice arrangements can be discussed.

Tell us the countries, the dates and roughly what people will be doing on the ground.

  • Hajj & Umrah parties

Meningitis ACWY is required for pilgrims, and a certificate is issued at your appointment. Groups travelling together are usually best seen together.

We'll need names exactly as they appear on passports for the certificates.

  • Sports tours & clubs

Squads, coaching staff and supporters heading to a tournament or training camp, often at short notice and around training schedules.

We'll try to group appointments so nobody misses a session.

  • Charity & expedition teams

Build projects, medical and aid work, treks and remote expeditions — the trips where rabies, hepatitis B and remote-area advice matter most.

The risk assessment covers bite avoidance, food and water, and what to do if something happens miles from a clinic.

Not sure your group fits any of these?

If more than one of you is travelling, it's worth an enquiry. Tell us the numbers, the destinations and the dates and we'll tell you the best way to do it. Group rates available — contact us for a quote.

Make a group enquiry

How it works

Four steps from enquiry to records in hand

No account to set up and no commitment at the enquiry stage. Tell us who's going where, and we'll do the planning.

  1. You send us an enquiry

Email or ring with the basics: how many of you there are, where you're going, and when you fly. No forms to fill in and nothing to pay at this stage.

  2. We review the itinerary

A pharmacist checks your destinations against the UK's NaTHNaC travel health guidance and comes back with what's usually advised, what needs a course started early, and a quote for the group.

  3. We book the group in

We set aside enough time so you're not queuing one at a time. Where possible a whole family or group is seen in a single visit — and larger parties can be split across a couple of sessions that suit you.

  4. Everyone leaves with their records

Each person gets a record of what they've had, any further doses in the course diarised, and the trip advice that goes with it — bites, food and water, and malaria prevention where it applies.

One visit for the whole group where we can

Families are usually seen together in one slot, and larger groups are blocked out so you're not waiting around between people. If your party is too big for a single session, we'll split it across times that work for you rather than turning you away. Group rates available — contact us for a quote.

  • It depends on the day and how much each person needs, but the point of a group booking is that we block out the time in advance rather than fitting people in one by one. If your party is too big for a single session we'll split it across times that suit you. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: the largest group that can be seen in one session]

  • Group rates are available — contact us for a quote. We won't quote a percentage on a web page, because what a group pays depends on how many of you there are and which vaccines you actually end up needing. Tell us the numbers, the destinations and the dates and we'll come back with a figure before anything is booked.

  • As early as you can, and ideally six to eight weeks before you travel. That's not a sales line: rabies is three doses over 21 to 28 days, hepatitis B is a course of three, and Japanese encephalitis is two doses typically 28 days apart — a group can't finish those in a fortnight. If your trip is sooner than that, still get in touch; a pharmacist will tell you what's still worth doing in the time you have.

  • Ask us when you enquire and we'll tell you what we can do. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: whether invoicing or a single company payment is offered for corporate bookings, and any account terms]

  • Yes — meningitis ACWY is required for pilgrims and a certificate is issued at the appointment, so bring names exactly as they appear on passports. Yellow fever is different: it can only be given at designated centres and Burntwood Clinic isn't one. If your group needs it we'll check the requirement and point you to your nearest designated centre, Touchwood Pharmacy at Greenhill Health Centre, Lichfield WS13 6JL.

  • Appointments take place in the private consultation room at Chasetown Pharmacy, 23 High Street, with free parking nearby. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: whether on-site or workplace sessions are offered, and any conditions]
