  • James on a longtail boat in Thailand

Booked the day before flying to Thailand and got seen the same afternoon. The pharmacist went through exactly what I needed for the islands and didn't try to sell me anything extra. Really reassuring.

I'd left it late before a long-haul trip and they still fitted me in. Friendly, quick and talked me through what was possible in the time I had. So much easier than trying to get a GP appointment.

We're off to Morocco and weren't sure if we needed anything. They checked our old records, told us what was still in date and only recommended what made sense. Great local pharmacy.

Went in for travel advice before backpacking in Bali. Lovely, calm consultation room and they were happy to answer all my questions. Would definitely use them again.

Common questions

Travel health, answered simply.

Still have a question? Call the clinic on 01543 682921 and a qualified pharmacist will get back to you.

  • Same-day appointments are usually available. Bookings need a minimum of two hours' notice from the booking time, so if your trip is in the next few days, you can usually be seen the same day.

  • Ideally book 6–8 weeks before you travel. Some vaccines need more than one dose, or time to take effect, before you leave. If your trip is sooner than that, it's still worth booking — your pharmacist can advise on what's possible in the time you have and how to reduce your risks while you're away.

  • Yes. Your consultation is with a qualified pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). They'll go through your itinerary, medical history and previous vaccinations, explain your options and agree a plan with you. Any vaccines that are suitable for you can then be given at the clinic.

  • Burntwood Clinic is inside Chasetown Pharmacy at 23 High Street, Chasetown, Burntwood, Staffordshire, WS7 3XE, with free parking available. We're open Monday to Friday 9am–5:30pm and Saturday 9am–1pm, and closed on Sundays.

  • Travel consultations are carried out by our pharmacist owners, Nimesh Vansia (GPhC 2086824) and Hinal Vansia (GPhC 2205356). Both are independent prescribers, and you can check their registration on the GPhC register.

  • Alongside travel health, Burntwood Clinic offers ear wax removal by microsuction, weight management, vitamin B12 injections, blood testing and men's health consultations. Chasetown Pharmacy also provides NHS services such as prescriptions, blood pressure checks and flu vaccinations for eligible patients. Call us on 01543 682921 to find out more.

  • Plans change — just let us know as soon as you can. Call the clinic on 01543 682921 to cancel or move your appointment, and we'll help you find a new time that still works before you travel.
