This page sets out who we are, who is responsible for the pharmacy, and the registration numbers you can check for yourself. We would rather you verified us than took our word for it — every number on this page can be looked up on a public register.

01Who runs this clinic#

03Superintendent Pharmacist#

Our Superintendent Pharmacist is Nimesh Vansia, GPhC registration number 2086824. He is a pharmacist and an Independent Prescriber, which means he is qualified to prescribe within his areas of competence.

The Superintendent Pharmacist is responsible for the way medicines are handled and for the professional standards of the pharmacy.

04Responsible Pharmacist#

A registered pharmacy must have a Responsible Pharmacist in charge whenever it is operating. The name and registration number of the Responsible Pharmacist on duty are displayed in the pharmacy, as the law requires. Ask at the counter if you cannot see the notice.

05How to check all of this yourself#

  1. Go to the GPhC register.
  2. Choose the register you want — 'Pharmacies' for the premises, or 'Pharmacists' for an individual.
  3. Search using the number on this page: 1038499 for the pharmacy, 2086824 for our Superintendent Pharmacist.
  4. Check that the name and address match what you see here, and that the entry is current.
  5. For the company, search company number 16277720 on Companies House.

06The standards we work to#

As a registered pharmacy and as registered pharmacy professionals, we work to the standards set by the GPhC, including:

  • Standards for pharmacy professionals — including person-centred care, working in partnership with patients, honesty and integrity, and speaking up when something goes wrong.
  • Standards for registered pharmacies — covering governance, staffing, the premises, the services we provide and the way medicines are managed.
  • Confidentiality — our duty of confidentiality applies to everything you tell us, alongside our obligations under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Continuing professional development and revalidation — pharmacists must keep their knowledge and skills up to date and record this with the GPhC each year.
  • Safeguarding — we have arrangements for protecting children and adults at risk, and will act on a concern.

07Private prescribing and prescription-only medicines#

Many of the treatments we provide are prescription-only medicines. They are supplied only after an assessment by a prescriber and only where clinically appropriate. A consultation is an assessment, not a guaranteed supply — see our terms.

We do not advertise prescription-only medicines to the public, in line with the Human Medicines Regulations 2012 and the UK advertising codes. Where this site describes a treatment area, it is describing the consultation.

08Yellow fever — we are not a designated centre#

Burntwood Clinic is not a designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. We cannot give the yellow fever vaccine, and we cannot issue an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP) for yellow fever.

Only centres designated by NaTHNaC (the National Travel Health Network and Centre) may do this. If your trip needs yellow fever vaccination or a certificate, we will tell you at your travel consultation and point you to your nearest designated centre.

If any other page, advert or listing suggests we provide yellow fever vaccination, it is wrong — please tell us on 01543 682921 so we can correct it.

09Reporting a side effect (Yellow Card)#

Suspected side effects from any medicine or vaccine can be reported to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) through the Yellow Card scheme. Patients, carers and healthcare professionals can all report, and you do not need to be certain the medicine caused the problem.

Please tell us as well, so that we can advise you and add it to your record.

10How we advertise#

Our advertising follows the UK advertising codes written by the Committee of Advertising Practice and enforced by the Advertising Standards Authority, as well as GPhC guidance. That means no promotion of prescription-only medicines to the public, no claims we cannot support, and no pressure selling.
