What to expect when you book with us
Your travel appointment covers your trip, your vaccines and the advice that goes with them.
Advice first, vaccines second
A consultation with the pharmacist is part of the appointment. They go through your trip with you before anything is recommended.
Nothing happens without your say-so
You'll know what's involved and what it costs before anything goes ahead — and you pay nothing for treatment that doesn't happen.
A private room, a private conversation
Appointments take place in our consultation room at Chasetown Pharmacy, away from the shop floor.
Easy to get to, easy to park
We're on Chasetown High Street in Burntwood, with free parking nearby — handy for Chase Terrace, Boney Hay and Hammerwich too.
Booking questions, answered
Can I change or cancel my appointment?
Yes. Call the clinic on 01543 682921 and we'll move it to a time that suits you — it's no trouble, we'd just rather know than have you not turn up. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: how much notice we need to change or cancel]
Who will I see?
Nimesh Vansia, our Superintendent Pharmacist and Independent Prescriber, GPhC number 2086824, with over 12 years as a pharmacist. You can check any pharmacist's registration on the GPhC register. Check the GPhC register
Is my appointment private?
Yes. You're seen in our private consultation room, not at the counter. What you tell us stays with the clinic — we only share it with your GP or anyone else with your agreement, or where the law requires it.
What if I'm not suitable for the appointment I've booked?
Then the pharmacist will say so, explain why, and tell you what your options are instead. You pay nothing for treatment that doesn't go ahead.
Where do I park?
There's free parking nearby on and around Chasetown High Street. We're at 23 High Street, Chasetown, Burntwood, Staffordshire WS7 3XE — on the main road through Chasetown.
How far ahead should I book?
Ideally 6 to 8 weeks before you fly, because some vaccines are given as a course over several weeks. If your trip is sooner, still come — there is usually something useful we can do.
Do you give the yellow fever vaccine?
No. We are not a designated yellow fever vaccination centre, so we can't give yellow fever vaccine or issue yellow fever certificates. If your trip needs it, we'll tell you where your nearest designated centre is.
What should I bring?
Your passport or itinerary with dates, countries and stopovers, plus any vaccination records you already have and a list of your medicines.
