Why Burntwood Clinic

A proper conversation about your health, close to home.

Many men put off checking in on their health. We make it straightforward: a private room, a pharmacist with time to listen, and a clear explanation of your results.

  • Unhurried, private consultation

Talk through how you've been feeling, your lifestyle and any worries in a private consultation room — nothing is off limits.

  • Male hormone blood test

A blood test that can include testosterone and related markers. Your pharmacist will explain what's tested and how the sample is taken.

  • Results explained clearly

Your pharmacist goes through what your results mean in plain English and agrees sensible next steps with you.

  • Joined-up next steps

If your results suggest something needs a closer look, you'll be advised on the options — which may include referral to your GP or a specialist.

  • Led by a pharmacist prescriber

Consultations are carried out by our superintendent pharmacist, an independent prescriber with over 12 years' experience.

  • Local, with free parking

Find us inside Chasetown Pharmacy on the High Street, with free parking nearby. Open weekdays and Saturday mornings.

Who it's for

  • Men aged 18 and over who don't feel quite themselves
  • Anyone noticing ongoing tiredness, low mood, poor sleep or lower sex drive
  • Men over 40 who want a health MOT and a clearer picture
  • Anyone who'd rather talk to a pharmacist in private first

Not suitable if you have urgent symptoms such as chest pain — call 999. The clinic doesn't replace your GP.

What to expect

Your appointment, step by step.

No awkwardness and no rush. Here's exactly what happens when you come in.

  1. Book online or call

Choose a time that suits you — same-day appointments are often available. Your pharmacist will let you know if you need to prepare, for example the best time of day for your blood test.

  2. Private consultation

In our consultation room, your pharmacist asks about your symptoms, general health, lifestyle and any medicines you take — and answers your questions.

  3. Blood test, if appropriate

If a hormone blood test is right for you, your pharmacist explains what's being tested and arranges your sample. The price is confirmed before anything goes ahead.

  4. Results and next steps

When your results are back, your pharmacist explains them clearly. If they suggest low testosterone or anything else that needs attention, they'll talk you through the options, which may include referral to your GP or a specialist.

  • How long it takesWe'll tell you how long to allow when you book.
  • ResultsTypically back within a few working days.
  • AftercareQuestions afterwards? Call the clinic and speak to a pharmacist.

Common questions

Men's health questions, answered.

Still have a question? Call the clinic on 01543 682921 to speak to a pharmacist in confidence.

  • A private consultation with a pharmacist about how you've been feeling, your general health, lifestyle and any medicines you take. If appropriate, this can include a male hormone blood test. Your pharmacist explains your results and agrees next steps with you.

  • If your results suggest low testosterone, your pharmacist will explain what they mean and talk you through the options, which may include referral to your GP or a specialist. Results can be affected by things like the time of day, illness or some medicines, so a repeat test is sometimes advised.

  • Your pharmacist will let you know when you book. Hormone levels can change through the day, so you may be asked to come in at a particular time, often in the morning. Bring a list of any medicines or supplements you take.

  • We'll confirm how long to allow when you book. Blood test results typically come back within a few working days, and your pharmacist will go through them with you.

  • A men's health consultation starts from £XX, a male hormone blood test from £XX, and the consultation and test together from £XX. Your price is always confirmed before any test or treatment goes ahead.

  • Yes. Your consultation takes place in a private consultation room and your information is kept confidential. We won't share your details with your GP without your consent, unless there is a serious safety concern.

  • Tiredness, low mood and poor sleep can have many causes. Your pharmacist will talk through other possible reasons, practical next steps and when it's best to see your GP.

  • No referral is needed — you can book directly. The clinic is for men aged 18 and over. If you have urgent symptoms such as chest pain, call 999, or contact NHS 111 for urgent advice.
