About this vaccine
Hepatitis A spreads through contaminated food and water. It is recommended for most travellers to much of Africa, Asia, Central and South America, the Middle East and parts of Eastern Europe.
It is worth asking about if you are:

Schedule
One dose, ideally at least two weeks before you travel.
Boosters
A second dose 6–12 months after the first gives much longer-term cover.
Most people have no more than a sore arm for a day or two. Some people get a headache, tiredness or feel off-colour for a short time. Serious reactions are rare.
Your pharmacist will go through the full list with you, check anything you react to, and give you the patient information leaflet before you decide.
