That's your appointment booked

Your ear appointment is booked. Softening drops for a few days beforehand help most people.

What happens next

  1. Come to the clinic a few minutes before your time.
  2. The pharmacist looks in both ears with an otoscope and tells you what they can see.
  3. If microsuction is suitable, the wax is removed there and then. If it can't all be removed, they explain what to do next.

What to bring

  • Details of any ear surgery, a perforated eardrum or ongoing ear problems
  • Any ear drops you have been using
  • Your hearing aids, if you wear them
