What to expect when you book with us
Your ears are checked first, and the pharmacist tells you what they can see before anything else happens.
Checked before anything is done
The pharmacist looks in both ears with an otoscope first and tells you whether microsuction is suitable for you.

You'll know what's involved and what it costs before anything goes ahead — and you pay nothing for treatment that doesn't happen.

Appointments take place in our consultation room at Chasetown Pharmacy, away from the shop floor.

We're on Chasetown High Street in Burntwood, with free parking nearby — handy for Chase Terrace, Boney Hay and Hammerwich too.
Booking questions, answered
Can I change or cancel my appointment?
Yes. Call the clinic on 01543 682921 and we'll move it to a time that suits you — it's no trouble, we'd just rather know than have you not turn up. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: how much notice we need to change or cancel]
Who will I see?
Nimesh Vansia, our Superintendent Pharmacist and Independent Prescriber, GPhC number 2086824, with over 12 years as a pharmacist. You can check any pharmacist's registration on the GPhC register. Check the GPhC register
Is my appointment private?
Yes. You're seen in our private consultation room, not at the counter. What you tell us stays with the clinic — we only share it with your GP or anyone else with your agreement, or where the law requires it.
What if I'm not suitable for the appointment I've booked?
Then the pharmacist will say so, explain why, and tell you what your options are instead. You pay nothing for treatment that doesn't go ahead.
Where do I park?
There's free parking nearby on and around Chasetown High Street. We're at 23 High Street, Chasetown, Burntwood, Staffordshire WS7 3XE — on the main road through Chasetown.
Will it hurt?
Microsuction is comfortable for most people. It can feel a bit odd and it is noisy, because the suction is close to your ear. If anything is uncomfortable, say so and the pharmacist will stop.
Do I need to use drops first?
Softening drops for a few days beforehand help for most people, and plain olive oil drops from the pharmacy are usually enough. If you haven't used any, still come to your appointment.
What if the wax can't all be removed?
Sometimes it can't be, in one appointment. The pharmacist will explain what they found and what to do next — that might be more drops and another appointment, or seeing your GP.
Is microsuction suitable for everyone?
No. It may not be suitable if you have a perforated eardrum, have had recent ear surgery, or have an ear infection. Tell us when you book and the pharmacist will check at your appointment.
